Scoraiocht to get car park works

Mid Louth Independent - - NEWS -

THE LONG awaited Scoraiocht Lannleire (right) car park redevelopment is set to take place thanks to the Town and Village scheme.

Dunleer was allocated €100,000, part of which will be used for the car park project.

Although not a public car park, it is used by the community on a daily basis for parking, in relation to shopping, funerals at the nearby St Brigid’s Church, etc.

‘We are delighted to announce that Minister Heather Humphries has announced the funding for the Car Park Project,’ PRO Tommy McCabe stated. ‘We have been looking for grant aid from everywhere for the past 10 years and more as our Car Park is open to the public since the construction of the Teach Ceili nearly 30 years ago.’

Cllr Dolores Minogue said she was delighted to see the project approved as she had spoken to the Scoraiocht members on a number of occasions about it.
