Driver is put off the road for 10 years

WAYNE Ka­vanagh (35), 9 Money­more, Drogheda, has been dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for 10 years for hav­ing no in­sur­ance at Money­more on 8 Au­gust, 2016.

He was also charged with hav­ing nei­ther tax or a driv­ing li­cence on the same oc­ca­sion.

Bar­ris­ter, Irene Sands said her client has a part­ner and two chil­dren, and pre­vi­ously re­ceived a five months sen­tence, which is un­der ap­peal, for sim­i­lar mat­ters.

Th­ese of­fences oc­curred be­fore those which are sub­ject of the ap­peal.

Judge Cough­lan, tak­ing all charges into ac­count, warned Ka­vanagh if he drove with­out in­sur­ance again, he would be a long time in Moun­tjoy.
