Iphone 5s stolen in dis­trac­tion rob­bery

GAR­DAÍ in Drogheda are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter a lo­cal woman had her iphone stolen by a youth who ap­proached her in the town cen­tre and asked if he could bor­row her phone to make a call.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at 10pm on Fri­day, Novem­ber 10th in the vicin­ity of the Scotch Hall shop­po­ing cen­tre.

The woman was ap­proached by a young male dressed in a black padded jacket and wear­ing a black base­ball cap. He asked her if he could use her phone but when she handed over her white iphone 5s the youth ran off.

Mean­while, gar­daí would like to hear from any­one who may have no­ticed a group of youth let­ting off a fire ex­tin­guisher in the un­der­ground carpark at South­gate Shop­ping Cen­tre last Satur­day at around 8pm. The youths ran off af­ter they were seen by a se­cu­rity man. A house in Stameen was broekn into last Tues­day, Novem­ber 7 th some­time be­tween 6pm and 9pm. The own­ers re­turned to find the front door of the house had been forced open and a num­ber of rooms had been ran­sacked.

A small quan­tity of cash was taken.
