Cannabis bill move is on

Mid Louth Independent - - NEWS -

LOCAL campaigner Alex Baizert has welcomed the decision to allow proposals for the use of medicinal cannabis to move to the next legislative level.

Minister of State at the department of Justice and Equality David Stanton said that the view of the majority of TDs was that the bill should proceed to committee stage in the Dail.

“The majority here want to proceed to committee stage, the Government will not be opposing that at this time,” he said. TD Gino Kenny has put forward the bill. ‘I welcome that move and hopefully it can become law,’ Mr Baizert stated.

‘It is moving very slowly. Why can this government not take the benefits, why can they even not give a date when this Compassionate Access Programme is going to be available to patients like myself ?”
