THERE are quite a few top gigs listed for this sum­mer around Drogheda, in­clud­ing a clas­sic one at the Droic­head Arts Cen­tre on Satur­day July 14. The ex­cep­tional Carolan brothers, Gene, Stephen and James will per­form live with for­mer Voice of Ire­land win­ner Pat Byrne and lo­cal soul and pop artist Saoirse.

Boom­rang geared up for camps

Boomerang staff are all geared up for a sum­mer of fun as they ea­gerly await your ar­rival to their ex­cit­ing sum­mer camps.

Coscan on stage

AU­GUST 19 at the TLT will see an evening dis­play­ing an ar­ray of lo­cal tal­ent from the Le­in­ster area, with head­line act of the night Coscan, fea­tur­ing Liam Bridge­man, Tune Raiders, Katie & Aoife Lynch and many more.

Round the head swim

The Round the Head Swim takes place from Clogher­head Lifeboat Sta­tion on July 14th next.

Clogher­head pro­vides swim­mers with an op­por­tu­nity to be very close to na­ture and see at close quar­ters the ge­o­graph­i­cal fea­tures like Redman’s Cave as you cir­cum­nav­i­gate the head.

Dur­ing the swim there will be a num­ber of boats, kayak­ers, pad­dle board­ers and mem­bers of the lo­cal Coast­guard on duty.

The wa­ter temp is likely to be be­tween 12 C and 14 C. All can­di­dates should have swan in sim­i­lar con­di­tions and swam at least 1.5 K in the open wa­ter within the pre­vi­ous 3 months.

Ju­nior swim­mers, un­der 16 years old, must have a par­ent or guardian sign on their be­half. The or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee have the fi­nal say in par­tic­i­pants en­try to the event.
