It is with Great Sadness, Cuchulainn Gaels has learned that one of our longest and hardest working members, Rosemary Jones, has passed away this afternoon.

Rosemary was a dedicated committee member and ran our club lotto for many years.

Huge congratulations to the U14 players and mentors from Owenmore Gaels GAA Club who won the Féile Peile 2018 Div 8 Shield in Ardee today! They were a credit to their club and families all weekend and we’re delighted to see them going home to Sligo GAA with silverware.
It was great to see and hear the very vocal support for Owenmore from the Cooley Kickhams and Cuchulainn Gaels U14 players, mentors and supporters. This is exactly what the Feile experience is all about - young people bonding and celebrating with new friends, having fun and celebrating their love of Gaelic Games.
Basically Our lads were exemplary, perfectly behaved off the field, respect and grit on the field. They done us proud.
I would like to congratulate Kevin Smith and Gerry Fearon along with the Féile committee in running a brilliant spectacle in the peninsula.

OUR bid for a senior championship win begins on Sunday with a group match against Geraldines, Last year we reached the final only to be beaten by Newtowb Blues. This year we aim to go one better.
Geraldines got their campaign off to a good start on Sunday last with a one-point win over St Patrick’s, who we’ll be out against the weekend after next.

John Mitchel’s Couch to 5k will be starting shortly, with our annual Club 6K run and Family Day being held in August. Full details will be put out shortly.
We hosted a very successful Club Together Day recently where we welcomed nearly 140 children from Ardee Monastery Boys School to our pitch in Ballybailie. The chidren enjoyed a fun-filled day of Gaelic Football with our own club coaches and Louth GDA Karl O’Connor.
OUR onewall juvenile and adult handball training in St Marys Diocesan school is going very well and will continue every Tuesday night at 7pm until further notice. Club players and supporters wishing to purchase new handballs, gloves, eyeguards for their training can do so by contacting any committee member these items are also available for purchase at Coke hall reception. There will be a very important committee meeting at Coke hall next Friday night at 8pm all delegates, players, and supporters are requested to attend. The main item for discussion is to update everyone on our club fundraising programme. Our ever popular juvenile Top Ace score competition will take place directly after the meeting on Friday night players wishing to enter should give their names to Niall Farrelly. Our club fundraising clothing appeal is going well if you have any unwanted coats, shoes, belts, handbags etc please bring them along to coke hall reception or you can contact Maria on 0879821594 to arrange for collection. The club are delighted to be chosen for the Tesco community fund on West street and we would ask everyone to please donate their blue token to us when doing your shopping as the club would hugely benefit from this funding thank you. TRAINING for all juveniles continues this Friday night July 13 at the Fairgreen from 7pm with the usual €2 contribution still applying.
Our young U8 hurlers took part in a blitz at the Fairgreen last Tuesday night playing games Knockbridge A and Pearse Og. The Moninne panel was Luke McCourt, Grace Cairns, Orla McCourt, Ewan McCourt, Aoife Dowdall, Oisin Maguire, Conal Cairns and Dylan Heaney.
Our senior team are through to the league final against Knockbridge thanks to a hard earned 3-13 to 0-10 over Mattock Rangers in Collon last Thursday night. The Moninne scorers were Darren Geoghegan (1-5), Ronan Geoghegan (1-4), Stephen Rafferty (1-1), John Martin (0-1), Feidhelm Joyce (0-1), Darren O Hanrahan (0-1).
On Saturday a small panel of players then travelled to Thurles to take part in the local hurling tournament. They played games against Watergrasshill, Thurles Sarsfield and Thurles Gaels.
Also on Saturday several of our U14 squad were included in the Louth U14 Dev Squad that took part in a blitz at Cloghan. They beat Monaghan and Fermanagh before losing narrowly to Armagh. The Naomh Moninne boys were Conor Whyte, Ciaran Walsh, Tadhg Dowdall, Aaron McGuinness Smith, Seamus Reid, James Maloney, Matthew Maloney and Luke Haughey.
Next Saturday July 14 our U13 team are fixed to play in the Div 2 Tain Og league final in Clones. Good luck boys.

Congratulations to Marianna Kierans Macari who played in goals on Saturday for the Louth U-14 ladies team that won the Division 3 Leinster blitz. She pulled off some great saves to keep Louth in all three games. Well done also to Lainey McCormack also played her part in this great win for Louth.
Training for our juvenile academy continues every Saturday at 11am - all new players welcome. Training for all other age groups continues as normal also.

ST. Brides LGFC, hosted Scotland, as part of Féile 2018, last weekend, 29th June -1st July. The Knockbridge club were delighted to be given the opportunity to pay back some of the hospitality and fun experienced by the club on the five occasions when they had represented the County at National Féile, in the recent past.
On Thursday night the Scotland team was welcomed to Knockbridge by the girls, parents and mentors of the U-14 team.
Both teams were playing in Division 7, along with Newtown Blues and Gloucestershire. All teams played two matches on Friday and two matches on Saturday. While neither Scotland nor the Brides featured in the finals on Sunday, this did not detract from the
tremendous enjoyment and fun which was had by all on this very momentous weekend. A weekend of sport, fun, family and friendships was had by all, thus epitomizing the Féile ethos and all that is good in Gaelic Foofball.

THE Sean O’Mahony’s Senior team will commence their journey to attempt to regain the Louth Senior Championship which they relinquished last summer, with a championship opener in the Grove in Castlebellingham, against the Dreadnots next Sunday evening, the 15th, at 8pm.
The Sean O’Mahony’s/ Na Piarsaigh/Dowdallshill U16’s had a great win over St Fechins last Wednesday at Na Piarsaigh’s ground.
On Sunday the Sean O’Mahony’s/ Na Piarsaigh/Dowdallshill U16’s lost out by just 2 points in a seven goal thriller to St Kevins/ Glyde Rangers/Westerns/Sean McDermotts on the Point road, despite missing many regulars.
On Wednesday, July 11th, the Sean O’Mahony’s/ Na Piarsaigh/ Dowdallshill U18’s travel to Kilkerley to face Kilkerley Emmets/ Naomh Malachi at 7.30.
Then on Friday the Sean O’Mahony’s U’12’s also travel to Kilkerley to face Kilkerley Emmets at 7pm.
