Louth’s young musicians on stage in the Dominican
THOSE lucky enough to be on West Street one Saturday recently will have seen a flash mob take to the street to promote a magical night in the Dominican Church on Monday, August 13th (6pm).
Bloom of Youth is a concert celebrating Bliain na nÓg with a focus on County Louth’s up and coming musical talents. Including Nós Nua – Louth Youth Folk Orchestra, Louth Harp Ensemble & All Ireland instrumentalists Sarán Mulligan (concertina) Tadhg Mulligan (fiddle / bouzouki), Conal Duffy (pipes / double bass) with special guests, they will raise the roof!

‘Muintearas’ Lunchtime Concert with The O’Connor Family takes place on Sunday 12th August (1pm) at the Droichead Arts Centre
It takes a special occasion to get this busy, talented and award-winning family together and the O’Connors of Dundalk are delighted to be opening the Muintearas concert series for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018. Many individual members of the O’Connor family are known throughout the world and have brought the music of Co. Louth & the Oriel region to international stages for many decades.
This is a unique opportunity to see them perform together in their home county celebrating music and song from local sources including Rose O’Connor, Eithne Ní Uallacháin, John Joe Gardiner. Peter McArdle & Rory Kennedy. Gerry O’Connor (fiddle) will be joined by his sister Eilish (fiddle), wife Síle (fiddle), daughter Siubhán (fiddle & song), sons Dónal (fiddle & keyboards), Feilimí (guitar & song), Finnian (pipes & low whistle) and ‘adopted’ daughter Gráinne (accordion & song).
