Louth’s young mu­si­cians on stage in the Do­mini­can

THOSE lucky enough to be on West Street one Satur­day re­cently will have seen a flash mob take to the street to pro­mote a mag­i­cal night in the Do­mini­can Church on Mon­day, Au­gust 13th (6pm).

Bloom of Youth is a con­cert cel­e­brat­ing Bli­ain na nÓg with a fo­cus on County Louth’s up and com­ing mu­si­cal tal­ents. In­clud­ing Nós Nua – Louth Youth Folk Orches­tra, Louth Harp En­sem­ble & All Ire­land in­stru­men­tal­ists Sarán Mul­li­gan (con­certina) Tadhg Mul­li­gan (fid­dle / bouzouki), Conal Duffy (pipes / dou­ble bass) with spe­cial guests, they will raise the roof!

‘Muin­tearas’ Lunchtime Con­cert with The O’Connor Fam­ily takes place on Sun­day 12th Au­gust (1pm) at the Droic­head Arts Cen­tre

It takes a spe­cial oc­ca­sion to get this busy, tal­ented and award-win­ning fam­ily to­gether and the O’Con­nors of Dun­dalk are de­lighted to be open­ing the Muin­tearas con­cert se­ries for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉire­ann 2018. Many in­di­vid­ual mem­bers of the O’Connor fam­ily are known through­out the world and have brought the mu­sic of Co. Louth & the Oriel re­gion to in­ter­na­tional stages for many decades.

This is a unique op­por­tu­nity to see them per­form to­gether in their home county cel­e­brat­ing mu­sic and song from lo­cal sources in­clud­ing Rose O’Connor, Eithne Ní Ual­lacháin, John Joe Gar­diner. Peter McAr­dle & Rory Kennedy. Gerry O’Connor (fid­dle) will be joined by his sis­ter Eil­ish (fid­dle), wife Síle (fid­dle), daugh­ter Si­ub­hán (fid­dle & song), sons Dó­nal (fid­dle & key­boards), Feil­imí (gui­tar & song), Fin­nian (pipes & low whis­tle) and ‘adopted’ daugh­ter Gráinne (ac­cor­dion & song).
