Ardee schools get a great men­tion for their ef­forts for the tidy towns Togher lip sync bat­tle

Those in­volved in tidy towns in Ardee are still on a high af­ter get­ting a Na­tional Gold Medal in 2018.

One group they re­ally want to thank are all the schools in the area.

The judges heaped great praise on the schools for their fab­u­lous grounds and that was well de­served.

The pro­mo­tion of green schools and flags, along with clean ups, are all vi­tal.

Dun­leer TT ta­ble quiz

Dun­leer Tidy Towns were due to have a Ta­ble Quiz on 3rd Oc­to­ber 2018 and is now put back to the 11th Oc­to­ber 2018 at 8.30pm in Shear­mans Bar.

The Mas­ter of Cer­e­monies for the night is Mau­rice Ward. This will en­sure a good nights fun for all. If you have been at­tend­ing the ta­ble quiz in the past then you will know that there is a se­ri­ous and a fun side to the night.

Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camo­gie Club are host­ing a Lip Sync Bat­tles fundrais­ing event on Satur­day 29th De­cem­ber 2018 at the City North Ho­tel which prom­ises to be the event of the year.

An in­for­ma­tion evening was held in Slans Pub An­na­gas­san. Both clubs un­veiled the main spon­sor for the event on the night - Con­nect Credit Union (which cov­ers the Togher/Kil­saran area). Con­nect Credit Union were also on hand to present their gen­er­ous spon­sor­ship cheque. Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C., St. Anne’s Camo­gie Club and Lip Sync Bat­tle Ire­land are very much look­ing for­ward to this Christ­mas Show! Ev­ery­one in the par­ish is en­cour­aged to sup­port the event.

Tidy towns awards night

The Awards Night for Gar­dens and Shops etc, in Dun­leer will go ahead on Thurs­day 15th Novem­ber at 8pm in the Grove in Dun­leer where lo­cal ef­fort in the area of gar­dens and Tidy Towns Vol­un­teers will be re­warded.

They will have the Christ­mas Raf­fle for Tidy Towns on 14th De­cem­ber 2018 at the Mar­ket House in Dun­leer

An­na­gas­san 10k run

The won­der­fully scenic An­na­gas­san 10k for 2018 takes place on Novem­ber 17th 2018 at 11.00am in An­na­gas­san

26new homes for Dun­leer

Bellscape Ltd. have been granted per­mis­sion for the con­struc­tion of a to­tal of 26 two storey dwellings in a mix of de­tached, semi-de­tached and ter­raced form on Main Street, Dun­leer.

The de­vel­op­ment also pro­vides for a new ve­hic­u­lar en­trance onto Main Street/R132, a river­side amenity path, a pub­lic foot­path along the site frontage on the east side of Main Street /R132, all as­so­ci­ated site de­vel­op­ment works in­clud­ing al­ter­ations to ground lev­els, in­ter­nal roads and foot­paths, eletric­ity sub­sta­tion(s), car park­ing, open space, pub­lic light­ing, land­scap­ing and bound­ary treat­ments.

Dun­leer church con­cert

On Fri­day, 26th Oc­to­ber at 8pm, singing duo Ga­van Ring (bari­tone) and his wife Ni­cola (so­prano) along with pi­anist Aoife O’Sul­li­van will per­form an evening of show­stop­ping arias and duos from the world of opera and op­eretta.

Tak­ing place in St. Brigid’s Church. Dun­leer, this con­cert is a char­ity fundraiser for Down Syn­drome Ire­land, Louth Meath Branch. Tick­ets are €20 which in­cludes an in­ter­val wine re­cep­tion, and now on sale from the Mar­ket House in Dun­leer at 089 9854278.

Square home

SQUARE United seniors are to play their games on the Ardee Com­mu­nity School’s pitch. .

But af­ter over 30 years on the boys school field, they won’t be leav­ing it as the ju­ve­niles will be keep­ing the Square United name there.
