Sis­ter Flor­rie gave so much to the MMM com­mu­nity in her life­time

SIS­TER Flor­rie (Florence) Goold was born in Dublin in 1928 and joined MMM in 1947. Af­ter pro­fes­sion she trained as a nurse. Her first as­sign­ment was to Naples, Italy, where she served for many years be­fore re­turn­ing to Drogheda to com­plete training in mid­wifery.

As­signed to Uganda in 1975, Sis­ter Flor­rie worked there as a nurse for two years.

She re­turned to Drogheda in 1978 and worked in mis­sion aware­ness and in the guest de­part­ment.

In 1987, she was ap­pointed lo­cal busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tor in the MMM Mother­house, a role in which she served for over twenty years.

She was also in MMM lead­er­ship.

In 2016 Sis­ter Flor­rie moved to the nurs­ing fa­cil­ity, Áras Mhuire.

She died there peace­fully on 29 Septem­ber 2018.
