Ghosts of Drogheda

THE Old Drogheda So­ci­ety’s An­nual “Ghosts of Drogheda Walk” will take place this year on Fri­day Oc­to­ber 26th, de­part­ing from Mill­mount at 7.15 pm.

The walk will fo­cus on Drogheda’s bloody past and par­tic­i­pants will be in­tro­duced to some of the char­ac­ters who fash­ioned the town’s his­tory and hear sto­ries of some of the hap­penigs over the years. It is aimed at adults and chil­dren over 10 years of age.

The cost of the walk is €4 and tick­ets are on sale from Drogheda Tourist Of­fice.

St Pio de­vo­tions

St Pio de­vo­tions will take place in St Marys church, Drogheda on Thurs­day 18th Oc­to­ber, mass at 7.30pm fol­lowed by Eucharis­tic heal­ing bless­ing with relic of St Pio. Rosary at 7.05pm. All are very wel­come.

Talk on John Red­mond

A talk hosted by the Louth Ar­chae­o­log­i­cal and His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will take place in the Monaster­boice Inn on Mon­day Novem­ber 19th at 8pm. John Bru­ton will de­liver the talk on John Red­mond - ‘a pa­triot and coura­geous politi­cian, and his times). It will be il­lus­trated.
