Inistioge parade is cancelled

THE St Patrick’s Day Parade in Inistioge was cancelled as a mark of respect to local publican James O’Donnell.

Mr O’Donnell ran O’Donnell’s pub in the village.

The parade - which always attracts a big crowd to the picturesque village - was due to begin at 1 p.m.

Mr O’Donnell of O’Donnell’s, The Square, Inistioge, died on St Patrick’s Day morning and a large crowd attended his funeral Mass at St Colmcille’s Church, Inistioge, on Monday and his burial afterwards in Cappagh.
