Incoming principal relishing new role at New Ross school

THE new principal of Bunscoil Rís, Edmund Rice Senior Primary School in New Ross has thanked the management and staff of the school for helping him settle into his new role.

Brian MacMahon is retiring from his role after 43 years this month, making way for former Camolin NS principal Gerry Moran.

The school in the Bawnmore will reopen after the summer holidays on Wednesday, August 30, at the regular time for all pupils, 8.45 a.m.

School buses will run at the usual times. Mr Moran said he is looking forward to his new role. Mr Moran said: ‘As new principal I look forward to working with all pupils, parents, teachers and school staff.

‘I hope to meet you all over the next number of weeks. I would like to thank the board of management, Chairperso­n Rt. Rev. Mgr. Joseph Mc Grath, Principal Brian MacMahon and Deputy Principal Niamh King for making the transition period for me go so well.’

He said: ‘I wish Brian good health and happiness in retirement and thank him for his cooperatio­n over the last few months.’
