It’s a wrap for Tesco employee David!

New Ross Standard - - NEWS -

TESCO cafe worker David Walsh got more than he bargained for on his last day at work on Friday afternoon when he finished up to find his colleagues had wrapped his car in reams of shrink wrap. David, from Waterford, had worked at the Aramark run cafe for seven years, and was a popular member of staff. An avid Liverpool fan, he fell foul of a few Manchester United pranksters in the cafe and Tesco, who left messages about Liverpool on the wrap. Tesco manager Peter Spratt said: ‘It took him a bit of time to get it off. He spotted it early in the day so he was working away on it. They were going to decorate it with Manchester United stuff but they decided against it, opting for shrink wrap instead. There was some amount used!’

Mr Spratt said there is great banter between the Tesco and cafe staff as many Tesco employees dine at the eatery. There was much laughter and banter from colleagues on David’s final day at Tesco New Ross, but he had a happy ending as he got to drive away to enjoy his team thrash Arsenal 4-0 at the weekend.
