Smiley the puppy saved from certain death in New Ross
A PUPPY was saved from certain death in New Ross and is now thriving.
Smiley was about to be thrown into the Barrow river when a passerby rescued her and brought her to Barbara Mooney of the Sunset Appeal.
The collie whippet cross was ‘skin and bone’ and severely malnourished when she was brought to Ms Mooney’s Ballycullane home.
‘She was absolutely terrified. You had to be very careful when you picked her up as she screams the place down. she will wet herself. I reported the matter to the gardaí.’
Ms Mooney said Smiley is going to her ‘forever home’ this week where she will be well cared for by a family.
