French heritagetalk

On Tuesday, November 21, at 7 p.m. a talk entitled The Walling of New Ross and the French Language Culture of Medieval Ireland will be given by Dr Keith Busby, lecturer in Medieval French at the University of Wisconsin, at New Ross Library. In 2015, Dr. Busby visited New Ross researching for his work ‘Medieval Franconia’. He contacted the Ros Tapestry and with their help identified tombstones in St Mary’s churchyard that are in Norman French. He also conducted research in Kilkenny and Waterford.
