Bail is granted de­spite ob­jec­tions

BERNARD STA­PLE­TON (30) – also known as Bernard Egan – ad­dress given as 10 Pri­ory Street, New Ross was al­lowed bail at the Dis­trict Court in Wex­ford de­spite garda ob­jec­tions.

Out­stand­ing charges in­cluded counts of crim­i­nal dam­age, pos­ses­sion of a knife, theft and mo­tor­ing mat­ters.

He was al­lowed his liberty by Judge John Chea­tle to stay with his part­ner and his young child while wait­ing for the court to deal with all mat­ters.

He agreed to obey a nightly cur­few, sign on daily at New Ross garda sta­tion and pro­vide gardaí with a work­ing mo­bile phone num­ber.
