Anne’s by the book

New Ross Standard - - SPORT -

PENCIL IN Saturday, February 24, at 8 p.m. in your diaries, as that’s exactly when the St. Anne’s G.A.A. Club history book will be launched in their clubhouse in Rathangan.

It has been painstakingly put together over many years by Jim

Berry, the former County Board and Leinster Council Chairman, and the end result is a very impressive publication comprising more than 500 pages.

The history of the games in the parish of Rathangan dates back to the foundation of the G.A.A. in 1884, but not surprisingly 2000 will take pride of place as that was the year of the club’s famous Senior championship double. Supplies of the book are limited, so get to the launch and make a sound investment.
