CARRIGBYRNE RUN/WALK. TRÓCAIRE

The local Ladies’ Football club are holding their annual run/walk/ jog on Carrigbyrne Rock this Good Friday with registration at 5 p.m. for a 5.30 p.m. off (After devotions) €10 for adults. Food served afterwards with plenty of Easter eggs for the children.

Around this time every year, parishes, schools, and communities around the country get involved with the Trócaire Lenten Campaign. This kindness and compassion is helping to change lives for the better. This year’s campaign focuses on Sierra Leone where vital work is now being done, with our donations helping in no small way those whose entire lives have been thorn apart. Most of the children there are quiet and withdrawn. Many cannot sleep because of nightmares. Flashbacks are common among the survivors and they cry a lot. Just imagine if most of our community was gone in an instant. It doesn’t bear thinking about. Nobody should face the fear and heartbreak that people in places like Sierra Leone have endured, but with our support Trócaire has promised to be there and to work relentlessly till Love conquers Fear.

If you need a collection box or envelope they are available in all churches throughout the country They can be returned to any parish or school, or return your gift in the envelope supplied to Eamonn Meehan, Trocaire, Freepost NS 2May 44nooth Co. Kildare.
