Pole issue to be rectified

-

AN ISSUE relating to traffic lights being located in the centre of all-access pedestrian ramps in the Irishtown area of New Ross are to be rectified when remedial works in the area are completed.

Speaking to this newspaper about the matter Senior Executive Engineer with Wexford County Council, Abraham Dunne, said the lights were always in the wrong place and rectifying that is part of the contract.

Members of the public had raised concern about the location of the lights to this newspaper, however, Mr Dunne said they were like that for over 10 years but it’s now that the issue is being addressed.

‘ There are no lights up there yet as the only thing that’s new are the kerbs but when it’s done the lights will be moved to a more appropriate location,’ he said.
