Car insurance conviction

-

A CONVICTION for driving without insurance came with a twoyear ban for Kim Gordon (24) from 30 Shanagh Court, Coolcotts when her case was considered at Wexford District Court.

She was stopped at Clonmines in Wellingtonbridge while driving to her parents.

The court was told that the car, which was impounded on the spot, had only been bought that day.

Solicitor Sean Lowney described the defendant as a single lady working in a factory.

He assured the court that she was not driving at present.

Judge Kevin Staunton said he was sceptical of the suggestion that the vehicle was such a recent purchase.

He set a fine of €400, allowing six months for payment.
