PIERCE Turner is back on home soil and more than midway through a mini-tour of Ireland.

Given the weather we’ve been having, the Wexford legend’s Orange Coloured Sun Tour is aptly named.

It brings him to Wexford’s Greenacres in Selskar this coming Friday (July 20), with tickets available from the venue.

Earlier this year, Pulitzer Prize winner poet Paul Muldoon presented Pierce Turner at his much-lauded Muldoon’s Picnic in New York City. Sharing the stage that night with Fintan O’Toole and The Lost Brothers, Pierce performed two gems from an extensive back catalogue, ‘All Messed Up’ and ‘ The Boy To Be With’, to a sold-out theatre, and an ecstatic response.

Paul also invited Pierce to play one of his shimmering keyboard solos with him and his band for the finale.

The Orange Coloured Sun tour has already seen shows in Dublin, Cork City and West Cork, but Wexford fans will be glad of the opportunity to see the local hero on home turf in Greenacres this Friday night, from 9 p.m.
