Six ‘Great Taste’ golds for Wexford’s Wild about products

New Ross Standard - - NEWS -

Local artisan producer ‘Wild about’ has won six Gold Stars at this year’s International Great Taste Awards held in England.

Based in Monamolin, Wild about produce seasonal range of chutneys, preserves, syrups, oils and dressings from locally sourced wild ingredients.

The winning products included Elderberry and Apple preserve, Groovy Gooseberry relish, Celtic Roots chutney, Raspberry and Madagascan Vanilla jam and Hairy Hot Chilli oil.

Fiona Falconer of Wild about said they are thrilled as it was such a tough competition.

‘It is incredibly difficult to win a single star, let alone six,’ said Fiona. ‘ We are pure artisans, we do not use any imported, pre-packed or prepared ingredients, everything we make is by hand.’

Wexford Food Producers really amazed the judges at this year’s International Great Taste Awards such as O’Neill’s Bacon who were awarded four Gold Stars, Killowen Farm won eight Gold Stars, Poachers Tonic received six Gold Stars, Staffords Bakery got five Gold Stars and Bean & Goose Chocolates got one Gold Star.
