A talk on suicide and self harm takes place this evening (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. at New Ross Library. This is part of the library service’s parenting series of talks. HSE Resource Officer Tracy Nugent will advise parents and their families and offer strategies about how to cope when confronting suicide and self-harm situations. Tracy works in the area of suicide prevention, intervention and prevention. She coordinates the development and implementation of Connecting for Life; Ireland’s National Strategy to Reduce Suicide 2015 – 2020, at local level. She is the co-author of the book ‘Loftus, the Hall of Dreams’, in which photography, evidence and comprehensive historical research are intertwined with popular myth.
