NEW ROSS STAN­DARD The au­tumn pro­gramme at the Blue Egg Gallery in Wex­ford is con­tin­u­ing with WOOD WORK, an ex­hi­bi­tion de­voted to func­tional and dec­o­ra­tive ob­jects in wood and wil­low.

The par­tic­i­pat­ing artists are Roger Ben­nett, Hugh Cum­mins, Erich Ficht­ner, Gin­taras Malin­auskas and Alan Mered­ith who are show­ing pieces in wood and Terry Dunne, Ali­son Fitzger­ald, Joe Ho­gan and Heike Kahle who have made art­works in wil­low. Guest speaker at the of­fi­cial open­ing was Karla Sanchez who has been ac­tively in­volved in the arts since here ar­rival in Ire­land in 2004, hav­ing par­tic­i­pated in sev­eral re­search, ed­u­ca­tional and cu­ra­to­rial projects in Wex­ford Arts Cen­tre where she served as chair of the board and a mem­ber of the Vis­ual Arts Com­mit­tee un­til De­cem­ber 2017. vSan­cha has been on the boards of Bui Bolg and Myr­iad Dance Com­pany and was the founder of Wex­ford’s own Zor­ro­fest Wood WORK con­tin­ues un­til Septem­ber 29.
