New Ross Singers to mark end of WW1

New Ross Standard - - NEWS -

NEW ROSS SINGERS will commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1 with a performance of Karl Jenkins’ well- known choral work ‘ The Armed Man’.

This powerful anti- war piece, charts the growing menace of descent into war, interspersed with moments of reflection. Though it shows the horror that war brings, it ends with the hope for peace, when sorrow, pain and death can be overcome.

The choir, with orchestra and soloist, will present this concert in St Mary & St Michael’s Parish Church, New Ross, on Sunday, November 11, at 8 p. m.

Tickets are € 20 ( students € 10) and are available from choir members, on 051421644/421766 and at the door.
