‘A Steady Rain’ for the National Opera House

Wexford theatre company Like a Fox will stage the Irish premiere of the smash hit play ‘A Steady Rain’ by Keith Huff in the Jerome Hynes Theatre of the National Opera House on on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 13, 14, 15, 16.

The play stars Fintan Kelly and Rónán P. Byrne as Joey and Denny, best buddies and Chicago cops who are no strangers to the city’s underbelly. The tense, dark and comic play follows both men through a wet summer on the beat.

One fateful night, a call to a domestic disturbanc­e has life-altering consequenc­es for the desperate duo. Can their friendship, families and careers survive?.

‘A Steady Rain’ will be directed by the Wexford playwright Eoghan Rua Finn who has previously directed The Blackstair­s Triklogy and The Kill God.

The Broadway run of ‘A Steady Rain’ starred Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig and broke box-office records when it was first staged in 2009.
