Cloughbawn ‘ A’ cruised into the third round of the Creane and Creane Wexford Cup as they hit Division 4 leaders Rosbercon United for six without reply on Sunday.

The Division 1 promotion hopefuls had far too much firepower for their rivals, with Willie Murphy and Páidí Cullen scoring doubles, and Cillian Doyle and Kyle Murphy adding a goal apiece.

A Joe Hyland double edged Enniscorth­y Town ‘A’ through as they saw off Ballymurn Celtic 2-1, with Shane Campbell scoring for the hosts.

Meanwhile, the Campile United ‘A’ versus North End United ‘ A’ game was abandoned with four minutes of extra-time remaining after Paul ‘Spot’ Murphy suffered a serious knee injury.

The sides were deadlocked at 3-3 at the time, with P.J. Banville, Barry Hearn and Darragh Kent scoring for the hosts and Shane Dempsey and Adam Beary (two) replying for the Sky Blues.

Both clubs wish Paul a speedy recovery.

Duncannon booked their place in the second round of the Neil O’Sullivan Cup with a commanding display against Bunclody ‘B’ on Sunday.

The seasiders ran out 5-2 winners, with Keith Donnelly (two), Jamie Wallace, Mikie Foley and Damien O’Grady getting their goals.

Shamrock Rovers ‘ B’ saw off New Ross Celtic 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Michael Kelly getting the goal for the Barrowside­rs.

Enniscorth­y Town ‘B’ marched on to the second round of the Gwyn Jones Cup after a hardfought win over Bunclody’s third string on Sunday.

Mark O’Connor netted the only goal of the game.
