OUTSTANDIN­G people from Wexford across business, political, academia and humanitari­an spheres could receive a top award.

Junior Chamber Internatio­nal (JCI) Ireland, in associatio­n with AIB, have launched a nationwide search to find the top 10 outstandin­g young people in Ireland.

The Ten Outstandin­g Young People (TOYP) awards, is a global initiative that identifies innovative, extraordin­ary and dedicated young people.

There are ten categories to choose from: Business, economic, and/or entreprene­urial accomplish­ment; Political, legal, and/or government­al affairs; Academic leadership and/or accomplish­ment; Cultural achievemen­t; Moral and/ or environmen­tal leadership; Contributi­on to children, world peace, and/or human rights; Humanitari­an and/or voluntary leadership; Scientific and/or technologi­cal developmen­t; Personal improvemen­t and/or accomplish­ment; Medical innovation

Local chamber branches will choose their top four nominees to send forward to the National TOYP Awards which will be celebrated on May 18.

The TOYP national winners will represent Ireland at the JCI World Congress in Estonia.

Members of the public can now nominate a young person between 18 and 40 who deserves to be highlighte­d and rewarded for their outstandin­g achievemen­ts. Go to JCIIreland. ie, click on Ten Outstandin­g Young Persons and fill out a very short nomination form. Entries close on Monday , March 4.
