Sum­mer may be over but that doesn’t mean the Boyne Val­ley Food Se­ries is. Right up to De­cem­ber, there are 14 food-filled ex­pe­ri­ences to en­joy in the Boyne Val­ley. Septem­ber has The Royal Meath Show, Taste of Togher, Strawfest and the Boyne Val­ley Food Fest. All will have plenty of sea­sonal, lo­cal food along with demon­stra­tions, live mu­sic and fam­ily GIY-ers also get a chance to share their har­vest at Sheri­dan’s Har­vest Day, an in­for­mal gath­er­ing of am­a­teur grow­ers.

In Oc­to­ber, cider lovers will en­joy the Ap­ple Har­vest Walk at the Cooney fam­ily or­chards and there’s an Ok­to­ber­fest in Na­van and a Gin School Ex­pe­ri­ence at the Lis­toke Dis­tillery in Tin­ure. The Oc­to­ber bank hol­i­day week­end will see the in­au­gu­ral BRÚ Trim Tra­di­tional & Celtic Rock Fes­ti­val, show­cas­ing some of the coun­try’s best mu­si­cians along­side lots of lo­cal food and taste trails.
