Truly Frank: A Dublin Memoir

RTÉ Guide - - Books - by Frank McDonald

(Penguin Ireland) Journalist, author and conservationist, Frank McDonald has penned an illuminating and honest memoir about his city, Dublin, and himself, a gay man who lived through less enlightened times. Among the revelations are some unusual and probably little known facts such as in his early journalism days in New York, McDonald reported on Watergate and following the publication of The Destruction of Dublin, he received a letter from Spike Milligan outraged that the Huguenot Cemetery on Merrion Row was about to be obliterated (it wasn’t).
