For better or worse

Journalist, Sonia Cahill, is sniffing around for the story regarding Bela and Cass’ upcoming wedding, which has Laura worried. Bela wants Cass to be careful during his interview with Sonia, while Anto encourages Cass to have a little fun. During their chat, Sonia praises Cass for his efforts regarding gay rights. However, when the article comes out, Cass is concerned that it exaggerates his role – how will Laura take it? Despite advice from Bela and Anto, it’s clear that Laura is disappointed in Cass. Carol, unimpressed by Laura’s behaviour towards Cass, gives her a piece of her mind, but gets more than she bargained for in return. Cass decides to talk to Laura, who lays the situation out straight for him.

Bosco is struggling to keep Orla and Paul’s ‘affair’ to himself, as Hughie starts to put the pieces together when he sees Paul with Orla. Meanwhile, Orla ends up selling all the cars in the garage to dodgy dealer, Lenny, and she tells Paul she hasn’t received payment for them. Paul then explains to Orla his reasons for lying about the affair, and how it was all to do with keeping Dolores in the dark regarding their revenge plot. Later, Paul chats to Dolores and Pete about the ‘affair’ as Dolores suspects that there’s more to this than meets the eye. The ‘affair’ quickly becomes the talk of Carrigstown, while Dolores does more digging into what is actually going on. She finds out about the cars, and realises this has all been a cover-up. Orla gets the contract for the garage – but Killian tells her she’s only getting 40%, so she will have to get Wayne’s approval for any large financial transactions. Orla scrambles to cancel the car deal, shocking Paul, while Dolores continues to stick her nose in Orla’s business. However, things take another turn when Lenny double-crosses Orla.

Away from the drama with Orla, Dolores and Pete decide to let No 41, and Bela suggests Seán as a possible tenant. He agrees to take it, while Vinny and Darragh compete for the other free room. Pete lets Seán decide, but reminds him to be clinical. Both Vinny and Darragh do their best to win Seán over, but as the week goes on, Pete wants an answer from Seán. He chooses Vinny, but Darragh leaves Seán with a word of warning.
