MICHAEL’S ADVICE

Sunday Independent (Ireland) - Business & Appointments - - FRONT PAGE -

Having a product or service that is unique or specialised can be an advantage. Customers will pay more for specialist products and services where these are key to their own operational success. Having a specialised product or service offering also makes it harder for competitors to copy what you do. Starting and running a business does not come easy. It is a case of constantly believing in yourself and working really hard. You have to continuously talk to your customers, keep ahead of your competitors and keep up with changing trends in the market. In the world of business, there is simply no reward without effort. To grow and expand any business, you need to hire really good staff. Look for those with expertise in key functional areas and where possible, strong sectoral experience. No one person can scale a business. It requires a full team effort.
