The news brought many tragedies to our screens dur­ing the Eight­ies. None of them can com­pete with Anne Doyle's mul­let. In fair­ness, the whole coun­try was dic­ing with fash­ion death back then. Anne was just try­ing to stay in touch with the or­di­nary woman with her Bul­gar­ian coalminer look. She prob­a­bly thought, “Peo­ple have short mem­o­ries, what's the worst thing could hap­pen? It's not like some­one is go­ing to in­vent a world­wide net­work of com­put­ers where peo­ple can see em­bar­rass­ing pho­tos of your past. I mean, come on.”
