The must-try make-up mantra this autumn is: think pink! But beware, as just a touch of pink is all you need, or else you risk looking like an overgrown Barbie.

For daytime, keep the look quite soft; wear pink with natural-looking nudes and emphasise your lashes with a dark mascara. Team with some black eyeliner for a striking evening look.

Lips: I’ve told you how Lancome’s new L’Absolu Velours, left, €25, in Velours de Magenta, is my new lusthave lippie — I’m rocking it in my photo, above. You apply it like a gloss but it has the coverage and hold of a lipstick for a velvety, matt finish.

Eyes: Max Factor’s New Wild Shadow Pot in Fierce Pink, €6.99, works really well as an eyeliner. Just wet a liner brush and apply the colour either on the top or bottom of the lash line.

Brush: Blank Canvas Cosmetics pays homage to this season’s pink obsession by creating its pro make-up essential, the F20 flat buffer brush, right, €13.99, in pink. Use it to apply foundation but it’s also good for blush powder, bronzers and body shimmers.

Top tip: F20’s unique blending ability makes it ideal for mature skin too as it creates a smooth, youthfullooking appearance.

Blush/Multi-Use: Wild About Beauty Multi-Purpose Tint, €20.63, from www. feelu is a multitasking marvel that enhances eyes, lips and cheeks by adding a hint of colour that lasts throughout the day.

Fragrance: Lacoste Touch of Pink, €30, is a flirty fruityfloral for your inner Barbie. Nails: NCLA Nail Polish, below, €16, in Hello, I Love You, see www.nclaireland. com, is high-shine, quick-dry and chip-resistant. It also has no DBP, no toluene, no formaldehyde, or camphor and it’s not tested on animals.
