Fancy buy­ing bread in a bot­tle? ‘What next?’ I hear you say. Beatrice Toll­man, of the Red Car­na­tion Ho­tel Group, the new owner of Ash­ford Castle, has a fan­tas­tic bread recipe with sun­flower, pump­kin and flax seeds, wal­nuts and raisins. Ev­ery day, guests ask for the recipe, which the staff at Ash­ford hap­pily pro­vide. How­ever, Mrs Toll­man and Ash­ford Castle’s pas­try chef, Paula Stakelum, came up with the idea of bot­tling the in­gre­di­ents for the per­fect 1lb loaf, which guests could then bake them­selves at home, to evoke their mem­o­ries of Ash­ford Castle.
