An ex­cel­lent steak and seafood res­tau­rant lo­cated on the first floor over the at­mo­spheric Strand Bar in the sea­side vil­lage of Strand­hill. Tra Ban, sis­ter res­tau­rant to Sligo’s pop­u­lar Eala Bhan, is named for the beach it over­looks and has stun­ning views out over the Monas­tic Set­tle­ment on Inish­mur­ray Is­land.

‘Sammy the seal’ has joined Fungie in the world of celebrity seal­ife at­trac­tions, pitch­ing up daily to be fed out­side The Fish­man and its new Light­house seafood res­tau­rant on the South Quay in Wick­low Town. There’s a lovely at­mos­phere, with That’s Amore play­ing dur­ing my visit. Lots of seafood and daily spe­cials.

With its new up­stairs ter­race giv­ing spec­tac­u­lar, un­par­al­leled views over Kin­sale’s ma­rina and har­bour, Vista adds a def­i­nite touch of Cannes to this fab­u­lous town, and is hugely pop­u­lar with the lo­cals.
