Pulling off ‘crisp and sharp’ can be tricky in the sum­mer months. If any­one was go­ing to achieve it, it would be the for­mi­da­ble Anne Doyle. Seen here mak­ing Beetle­juice-style stripes more stylish than ever, this sim­ple com­bi­na­tion of a skirt and T-shirt is lent a sharp edge by the ad­di­tion of the striped blazer. Sim­ple ac­ces­sories also fur­ther steer this look away from sum­mer’s more streel­ish ex­cesses.


I opened the jew­ellery store, Loulerie, nine years ago this Au­gust, so I have seen many changes and shifts in spend­ing over the years, and there were def­i­nitely some tough times to be in re­tail and work­ing for your­self.

I have a back­ground in de­sign, and have, over the years, worked on be­spoke de­signs for cus­tomers. I be­gan to re­alise that fine jew­ellery was al­ways an area peo­ple trusted and in­vested in, as it is time­less and al­ways keeps its value.

So I de­cided to de­sign a cap­sule col­lec­tion of my own de­signs for the store. One of the pieces was a rain­bow moon­stone ring. It took al­most a year

to source the stone, as I wanted just the per­fect colour. When it fi­nally ar­rived in store, I was speech­less. It was per­fect, and ex­actly how I imag­ined it. I took a pic­ture of it and posted it on our In­sta­gram, and within two min­utes had calls from...
