Book: Wuthering Heights

Sunday Independent (Ireland) - Living - - R14EVIEW -

This is a form of torture. How is it possible to pick one book? I’ll go back to the first book that made my legs buckle. I read Wuthering Heights in my teens and I blame it for the fact that I am single today. (I am joking! Honestly!) The novel had a huge impact on my developing romantic sensibilities. I always had a penchant for the historical romantic novel, but this one was “art” and it swallowed me whole and spat me back out. I believed in a half-crazed hunk of a man called Heathcliff and wild headstrong Cathy, whose love transcended death.
