Dr Marie Bourke, art his­to­rian, cu­ra­tor

Dublin-born Dr Marie Bourke is an art-cul­tural his­to­rian and cu­ra­tor of the cur­rent ex­hi­bi­tion, Fred­eric Wil­liam Bur­ton: For the Love of Art, at the Na­tional Gallery of Ire­land. At the age of four her mother brought her to an art stu­dio and from that mo­ment she fell in love with the world of art. She is not just in­ter­ested in re­search­ing Ir­ish art but is pas­sion­ate about mak­ing Ire­land’s cul­tural his­tory more ac­ces­si­ble and well­known to a wider pub­lic. Marie is giv­ing a talk on the Bur­ton ex­hi­bi­tion to­day in the Na­tional Gallery of Ire­land at 3pm. Free, all wel­come. The ex­hi­bi­tion con­tin­ues to Jan­uary 14.
