AGENTS Mur­phy Mul­hall are seek­ing of­fers in ex­cess of €425,000 for a 0.36 hectare (0.89 acre) high-pro­file, in­fill devel­op­ment site on Court Place in Car­low Town Cen­tre.

Lo­cated ad­ja­cent to Dublin Street, one of the town’s main thor­ough­fares, the site com­prises a for­mer bank premises and ex­tends to ap­prox­i­mately. 603 sq m (6,490 sq ft).

The re­main­der of the town site con­sists of a sur­face car park, which is only partly in use.

There is ex­cel­lent frontage onto Court Place and Athy Road, and the site, which is zoned town cen­tre, has po­ten­tial, ac­cord­ing to Brian Gaffney of Mur­phy Mul­hall for com­mer­cial and or res­i­den­tial devel­op­ment sub­ject to plan­ning per­mis­sion.

Gaffney says he ex­pects the prop­erty to at­tract in­ter­est from a wide range of lo­cal de­vel­op­ers and builders given its at­trac­tive lot size and po­ten­tial for rede­vel­op­ment.

Car­low is an es­tab­lished re­gional cen­tre and has an ex­ten­sive range of ameni­ties and ser­vices in­clud­ing the Mount Wolse­ley Ho­tel, Om­ni­plex cinema devel­op­ment and Car­low Golf Club.

The town is home to the Car­low In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy which serves over 7,000 third level stu­dents.

Car­low is set to en­joy a sig­nif­i­cant boost next year with the ex­pected opening of the new Car­low Cen­tral Shop­ping Cen­tre, which is be­ing an­chored by re­tail gi­ant Pen­neys. It will com­prise around 200,000 sq ft of re­tail space, as well as 640 car spa­ces and a fur­ther 10,000 sq ft of of­fice ac­com­mo­da­tion. The ma­jor devel­op­ment is set to open in time for the Christ­mas 2018 shop­ping pe­riod.
