Wex­ford pre­vail in end as Of­faly come up short

WEX­FORD gained a com­fort­able seven-point vic­tory, 2-17 to 1-13, over Of­faly in a medi­ocre Le­in­ster mi­nor hurl­ing cham­pi­onship quar­ter-fi­nal at In­no­vate Wex­ford Park yes­ter­day.

Both sides showed real spirit through the open­ing quar­ter, but it was Wex­ford who were mak­ing best chances play­ing into the breeze. Joe Keeneghan and David Nally gave the mid­lan­ders an early ad­van­tage with points be­fore two Ross Banville pointed frees had the sides level, 0-2 each after eight min­utes.
