Dunne’s hits 66 in Italy, but still six shots off pace

PAUL Dunne carded a 66 yes­ter­day at the Ital­ian Open but still found him­self six off the lead head­ing in to the fi­nal day. The Grey­stones man was five-un­der for his round, pick­ing up four birdies and an ea­gle on the par-five 14th.

Eng­land’s Matt Wal­lace has a twoshot lead go­ing into the fi­nal round af­ter hit­ting five birdies and a bo­gey to leave him on 17-un­der.

Wal­lace, co-leader with Aus­tralian Mar­cus Fraser at the start of the day, be­gan his round with a birdie at the long first and tapped in for an­other at the fifth be­fore miss­ing a par at the short sev­enth.
