JOHN HIGGINS finally shook off the challenge of Kyren Wilson to reach his seventh World Snooker Championship final after a 17-13 success.

Higgins led from the outset and while Wilson kept with him admirably, the Scot finally completed victory with superb breaks of 100 and 98 to close out the match.

It will be Higgins’ second successive final after a defeat to Mark Selby which he found hard to recover from last year, and victory would give him a fifth world title.
