Selfridges to invest €4m in Arnotts refurbishment and online revamp
SELFRIDGES Group is investing €4m of fresh capital in Arnotts, the Sunday Independent can reveal.
The money will be used to enhance the group’s store as well as to boost its online presence and IT capabilities. Over the next 12 to 24 months, the accessories and beauty hall area of the store will be refurbished, with popular brand Michael Kors introduced. The cash injection comes on top of the €2.5m allocated in capital projects last year as part of an ongoing transformation programme.
“We have already made considerable progress in our refurbishment programme, which includes the newly-located and beautifully designed Shoe Gallery, and the introduction of many new exciting brands,” said Arnotts managing director Donald McDonald.
“This new injection of capital will not only continue to invigorate our physical stores and transform our online presence, but also upgrade our IT capabilities, providing customers with a seamless and engaging experience across all our platforms.
“Our continued ambition is to make our department store and online presence contemporary, inspiring and an exciting destination for our customers, while cherishing the store’s unique heritage, offering an unrivalled product range and shopping experience long into the future,” Mr McDonald added.
Arnotts has recently redesigned its interior layout, with women’s shoes moving from the ground floor to the first in order to bring women’s footwear and clothing together.
The store is working on an overhaul of its website, Arnotts.com, which will soon be relaunched following a substantial investment as well as a redesign.
