Expanding Perera in spare space plea to neighbours

-

HAT tip to serial entrepreneur and professor Raomal Perera who has taken a novel approach to securing office space in Dublin for his US GovTech company Accela.

The firm — which supplies engagement software to government agencies and operates in more than 25 US cities, enjoying a 60pc market share there — wants to grow its staff of 50 here to more than 120 in the next three years. But Perera says it doesn’t make sense, just yet, to fork out on a major space — which is probably just as well given Dublin’s squeezed commercial and residential property market.

So, he took to Twitter and appealed to his Dublin neighbours with a few spare rooms — or floors — to share the love and make a bit of space for his workers, if only for a while. “It’s just an idea,” Perera told Ergo with a hearty laugh. Given the dearth of ideas out there, sharing excess office space is not such a bad idea at all.
