Fassbenders’ happy return

-

Thy kingdom come? I know that sounds like a line from his sex addiction masterpiece Shame but international movie star Michael Fassbender did come home to the kingdom, Kerry last weekend.

He was back in these lands to see his parents Josef and Adele. Michael — who was without his lovely wife Alicia Vikander — had dinner with mum and dad in the new restaurant at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens (which recently reopened after its €18m renovation and refurbishment). Josef, of course, used to be a chef at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens. Still in the kingdom, on June 21 (midsummer’s night, for those who don’t know already), An Enchanted Forest takes place at Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare. Guest of honour on the night is designer Colin Horgan. He will be joined by Helen Steele (who has dressed our own Saoirse Ronan and Cara Delevingne), as well as Alison Conneely (who is flying to New York this weekend as part of the “Wearing Irish’ show) and Alice Halliday (who has dressed Florence and the Machine). This Irish design showcase is organised by Orla Diffily (fashion PR and stylist with RTE’s Today Show) and creative director stylist Ann Marie O Leary.
