Mrs Doubtfire (1993) E4, 6.30pm Family comedy, starring Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan and

Sally Field. Actor Daniel is going through a difficult divorce, and he doesn’t get to see his kids as much as he would like. He comes up with the idea of disguising himself as an older Scottish woman so he can take the job as their housekeepe­r, meaning he gets to see more of the children. However, this quickly leads to a number of ridiculous situations.

three Kings (1999) TV3, 9pm War drama, starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Jamie

Kennedy and Ice Cube. The Persian Gulf War is winding down, when a group of American soldiers learn of a sizeable stash of gold that was stolen from Kuwait, and is ready for the taking. They set off on a mission to collect it, but soon get sidetracke­d by a series of events.

Agnes browne (1999) RTE1, 9.30pm Romantic comedy, with Anjelica Huston, Marion O’Dwyer and

Niall O’Shea. In 1960s Dublin a woman struggles to make ends meet for her seven young children after the death of her husband. Out of desperatio­n, she borrows money from a ruthless loan shark. She manages to get a job at the market, where things start to look up after she gets a date with a French baker. the eAgLe (2010) Channel 4, 11.05pm Action adventure, starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland. Young centurion Marcus travels to Roman-ruled Britain in the hope of restoring his father’s honour — he was the commander of an entire legion that was lost north of Hadrian’s Wall, somewhere in the dangerous Scottish mountains. Accompanie­d by his English slave Esca, he makes the dangerous journey into the uncharted highlands, where countless unknown dangers await them both.

MONDAY

thor (2011) E4, 8pm Marvel’s comic book action adventure, starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston. Thor, the headstrong god of thunder is cast out of his father’s kingdom of Asgard after his actions almost reignite the war between their home and the Frost Giants. Landing on Earth, he must learn to appreciate his incredible abilities if he is to return. However, his untrustwor­thy brother Loki uses his absence to put his dastardly plot to take the throne into action. Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba and Kat Dennings also star. sisters (2015) RTE2, 9pm Comedy, starring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph. Kate and Maura have been called to their childhood home by their parents who want them to clear out their old possession­s, as they want to sell it. The siblings are heartbroke­n because they have so many fond memories of growing up in the house, so they decide to throw one last huge party to give it a proper send off. MAgic MiKe (2012) TG4, 9.30pm Steven Soderbergh’s drama, starring Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughe­y, Joe Manganiell­o and Olivia Munn (right). Mike makes a living as a stripper at a club in Florida, but he wants more out of life. A young new recruit joins the group of dancers, and Mike decides to take him under his wing, while also expanding his idea for a business venture.

TUESDAY

MAMMAL (2016) TV3, 9pm Romantic drama, starring Rachel Griffiths, Michael McElhatton

and Barry Keoghan. A woman living alone in Dublin is trying to come to terms with the death of her teenage son. It is at this time that she meets homeless youth Joe, and the pair form a bond. However, a situation involving a violent gang and her ex-husband disrupts her healing process.

the tAKe (2016) Film4, 9pm Crime drama, starring Idris

Elba and Richard Madden. A pickpocket snatches a shopping bag from a woman in Paris, but believes its contents are useless so he dumps it. However, the bag explodes, and the city descends into chaos. CIA agent Sean is sent to investigat­e and soon unearths a dangerous conspiracy. ALbert’s MeMoriAL (2009) be3, 10.30pm Comedy, with David Jason, David Warner and Judith Hoersch. Albert, who is terminally ill, gathers his old Second World War friends to make a simple request — when he dies he wants them to take his body to the hill in Germany where they met, and give him the dignified send-off he wants. They agree, and what follows is a wild trip that includes smuggling the body across Europe in the back of a taxi.

WEDNESDAY

fALLing Down (1993) ITV4, 9pm Joel Schumacher’s drama, starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall. An unemployed defence worker is fed up with the world around him and decides that he isn’t going to take it anymore. Determined to set things right, he begins to lash out at the people he comes into contact with in increasing­ly violent ways. Meanwhile, a veteran cop is tasked with stopping his deranged spree. focus (2015) RTE1, 9.35pm Drama, starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Conartist Nicky is looking to pull off one last big job. However, things get complicate­d when he runs into Jess, a woman who he took under his wing years before, only to break off contact with her when he developed feelings for her.

the shAwshAnK reDeMption (1994) ITV4, 9pm Frank Darabont’s masterful adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, starring Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton and Clancy Brown. Andy Dufresne arrives at the titular prison to serve time for murder — a crime he maintains he didn’t commit. It is there that he gets to know Red, a veteran inmate, and the pair form a friendship while navigating the facility’s many dangers, including unpredicta­ble prisoners and merciless guards. Things take a turn for Andy when the warden offers him an important job, one that he begins to think could be used to his advantage. Drama, starring RavenSymon­e. A town struggling with racial tensions always has two proms — one for white students and one for black students. However, one young woman strives to change all that by uniting everyone at the same event.

AgAinst ALL oDDs (1984) RTE1, 11.45pm Drama, starring Rachel Ward, Jeff Bridges and James Woods. Ageing American footballer Terry is tasked by a gangster to track down the shady character’s wife. He manages to find Jessie, but falls for her, which leads to trouble for everyone involved. nAcho Libre (2006) ITV4, 12am Comedy, starring Jack Black and Ana de la Reguera. A monastery cook falls for a nun who has recently arrived in their community. He hopes to win her over, and after discoverin­g that she is a wrestling fan, he decides to become a masked Luchador.

Let’s be cops (2014) Channel 4, 12.35am Comedy, starring Jake Johnson

and Damon Wayans Jr. Two friends decide to dress as police officers for a fancy dress party, only to realise that their outfits are so realistic that people actually think that they are cops. This lands them in bother when they get tied up with mobsters.

Frontiersm­an Hugh Glass is left fighting for his very survival after he is mauled by a grizzly bear while traversing the harsh American wilderness.
