A €2 lotto bet turns into €125k

A County Louth punter has scooped an as­ton­ish­ing jack­pot of €125,627 all thanks to their €2 lotto bet.

The amaz­ing piece of luck came about af­ter the €2 bet was split into two parts, a €1 ac­cu­mu­la­tor on five num­bers and a €1 tre­ble, both on Satur­day night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw.

The €1 ac­cu­mu­la­tor con­sisted of the five num­bers 7, 13, 28, 31 and 42 which, when all drawn, saw the Wee County na­tive bag­ging the life chang­ing wind­fall of €125,001.

Their luck didn’t stop there how­ever as their €1 tre­ble on the num­bers 13, 28 and 42 also clicked see­ing an ex­tra €626 added to their win­nings.

As a re­sult of the two minis­cule €1 bets they walked away €125,627 bet­ter off.

Aoife Hef­fron, PR Ex­ec­u­tive for BoyleS­ports said it was an ex­tra­or­di­nary win for the lo­cal lotto en­thu­si­ast:

‘One lucky Louth punter cer­tainly had their Jan­uary blues washed away when their two €1 bets on the Lotto Plus 2 draw came up, see­ing them in­stantly win a com­bined to­tal of €125,627.’
