THE staff at Aura Swimming pool and leisure centre have launched a footwear and footie wear appeal for Ghana.
‘Every year we like to start off by doing something good and this year we have decided to work with Conor Hughes from Cross Cause and support them in the great work they do,’ said Josephine Pepper, Aura manager.
Conor and his team are fully pledged volunteers with Cross cause who work with an on the ground volunteer in the Volta Region in Ghana supporting five different schools and three leper communities in various projects and initiatives.
‘We at Aura Dundalk have decided to focus on two areas that would add value to these communities both practically and socially; so we need the help of local people.
‘We are appealing for good quality football shoes, in pairs only, for adults or kids but no heavy duty ones. We also need football jerseys. The kids and indeed adults would love football jerseys either individual ones or a team kit that is no longer needed.’
The collection point at Aura will run from Saturday 21 January until Sat 11th February.
