Plans afoot for St. Pa­trick’s day pa­rade

With the Christ­mas trees, it seems, just about packed away, plans are al­ready in place for the St. Pa­trick’s Day pa­rade in Dun­dalk!

Dun­dalk Cham­ber of Com­merce have be­gun invit­ing ex­pres­sions of in­ter­est from lo­cal groups and or­gan­i­sa­tions who are look­ing to take part in this year’s St Pa­trick’s Day Pa­rade in town.

Schools, dance groups, drama clubs, com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions and more make up some of the best ‘floats’ which pa­rade through the streets on St.Pa­trick’s Day.

This years na­tional fes­tiv­i­ties are likely to be week­end long cel­e­bra­tion as the pa­rade will take place on Fri­day March 17th, and is al­ways one of the high­lights of the year in town.

Last year’s pa­rade was no ex­cep­tion, draw­ing record crowds who lined the streets to watch the var­ied and colour­ful floats make their way through the town.
